FAQ

Domain name
My .BE or .EU domain name is quarantined?

If you are planning to transfer your .BE or .EU domain name to PriorWeb, and you notice in the WHOIS that it has the QUARANTINE status, it means that you're current registrar has deleted it.

There are now two possibilities to reacquire your domain name again:

- PriorWeb can start a 'Transfer from quarantine' procedure

The current or pending transfer will be cancelled, and this special transfer will be filed. The only difference with a regular transfer is the cost, we will charge you with another 50,00 EUR (21% VAT included). We strongly recommend you to consider using this particular way of reacquiring your domain name, as it is the only one which can ensure you that your domain name will not get lost in any way.

- PriorWeb tries to register your domain name after it gets released out of quarantine

The duration of a quarantined domain name is 40 days. Then it will be released and obtain the status 'free' again. The domain name will then be available for registration for every registrar. We can schedule an automatic attempt to register your domain name again, after it gets released. We cannot give you any guarantee that we will succeed in this attempt. We also do not advise you to choose this option, because it can cost you your domain name.
