Mail filters > How can I filter spam myself using the mail headers?

If you do not wish to use the quarantine system of PriorWeb, you can disable the spam filter for that mailbox.

All mail is scanned whether the spam filter is enabled or not. If the spam filter is disabled, a special mail header is added called 'X-Spam-Scanned'. When the spam filter is enabled, all mail with a minimum score of 5 is quarantined. You can use a lower score if you desire. If the spam score is 5 or more, the 'X-Spam-Status'-header will contain the word 'YES', 'NO' otherwise.

Spam email

X-Spam-Scanned: 6.7
X-Spam-Status: YES

Regular email (not spam)

X-Spam-Scanned: 1.2
X-Spam-Status: NO

You can configure message rules in your mail client to filter mail where the 'X-Spam-Status'-header contains 'YES' and move it to a different folder or remove it entirely.
