Mail filters > How can I filter virus myself using the mail headers?
If you do not wish to use the quarantine system for viruses from PriorWeb, you can disable the filter on your mailbox.
All mail is scanned for viruses, whether the virus filter is enabled or not. A special header, 'X-Virus-Scanned', is added to each mail to specify if the mail contains a virus. When a mail is infected, the header contains 'INFECTED', 'PASSED' otherwise.
Infected email
X-Virus-Scanned: INFECTED, W32/Bagle.BB@mm
Not infected email
X-Virus-Scanned: PASSED
You can use the message rules in your mail client to filter mail using the 'X-Virus-Scanned' header to either move the mail to another folder or remove the mail entirely.
