FAQ

Email
Mailing lists > How can I get messages from the mailing list archive?

Every mailing list maintains an archive of all messages sent to the list. You can consult this archive via e-mail.

To receive an overview of the latest archive entries, you can send an empty email to the index address of the list. You can compose this address by adding '-index' to the list name.

For example:

Mailing list: 'newsletter@priorweb.be'
Index address: 'newsletter-index@priorweb.be'

You will receive an overview of the last 200 messages in the archive. Every message has been assigned an index number. If you add this number to the index address mentioned earlier, you will receive an email with the full email message linked to that particular index number.

It's also possible to define a range of messages you want to receive. To do this, you add a dot after the '-index', and then the first and last index number separated by an underscore.

For example:

Mailing list: 'newsletter@priorweb.be'
Command: 'newsletter-index.5_20@priorweb.be' (to receive all messages ranging from 5 to 20)

Attention: depending on the archive settings of your mailing list, results of the command may vary.
