Mailing lists > How do I unsubscribe from a mailing list?
Members can unsubscribe themselves by sending an empty message, from the address they subscribed with, to the unsubscribe address. This is a special address which is formed by adding -unsubscribe to the mailing list address before the @-symbol.
Eg. to unsubscribe from newsletter@priorweb.be, you need to send the message to newsletter-unsubscribe@priorweb.be.
If your mail client is not set up to send mail from the address you subscribed with, you can also unsubscribe from another address by adding the email address you wish to unsubscribe in the unsubscribe address. The @-symbol in your mail address should then be replaced by an =-sign.
To unsubscribe john@priorweb.be from the mailing list newsletter@priorweb.be, you would send a message to newsletter-unsubscribe-john=priorweb.be@priorweb.be.
If the mailing list was set up to require unsubscriptions to be approved, a message will be sent to the subscribed address with information to finalise the unsubscription. This approval can happen from any mail address.
Once unsubscribed, you will receive a last message, telling you the unsubscription happened successfully.
Please note: You need to disable 'Mark list private' to allow new members to subscribe themselves!
