Software > How can I subscribe myself to mail folders in Apple Mail (IMAP)?
When you use the IMAP protocol to fetch your emails, you have to first subscribe to all the mail folders you wish to see in your overview. Normally this is something that your mail client will do automatically when first adding the account. In some cases, however, the mail folders can disappear out of the overview and you have to subscribe yourself to them again.
These are the instructions for subscribing to mail folders in Apple Mail.
1. Open the preferences of Mail by clicking on 'Mail' in your menu bar, then on 'Preferences'.
2. Click on the 'Accounts' tab and select the appropriate account.
3. Click on the button for advanced settings, then click 'Synchronize modified mailboxes automatically'.
4. Now restart Mail by simply closing the program and opening it again from your Dock or Applications folder.
5. On the right you will see the overview of all your folders. If a folder has one or more subfolders, you will see a small triangle preceding it. If you click it, it will unfold and show you all available subfolders.
