How do I configure SmartFTP?

1. Open SmartFTP and make sure you also have your activation email handy.

2. For the 'Address' enter the address you can find in the activation email under 'FTP' and then 'Server'. This is usually 'ftp.yourdomainname'. If you requested a domain name transfer, and the transfer hasn't finished yet, the server will not be reachable with that domain name. You should then use the alternative server host mentioned in the activation email.

Enter the user name and password in as mentioned in the activation email. Make sure the password is entered exactly as it appears in the activation email, including capitals. Port should be '21' (the default value).

When you click return, an FTP connection will be established with the server.
